The secrets of carpet care

A good carpet shampoo must be able to produce a great amount of “dry” foam which can penetrate and dissolve the dirt. It must not be absorbed and be allowed to penetrate into the bottom of the carpet since this could result in damage to the carpet. Obviously it must not be allowed to adversely affect the fibres or colour of the carpet either.

Usage

Before use: Carpet should be tested for colour fastness (preferably 24 hours in advance) and thoroughly vacuumed to remove all loose dirt.

For Hand Cleaning: Mix 1 part Carpet Glo to 40 parts water (1:40). Stir vigorously, then use resultant foam only, to do the cleaning, being cautious not to soak the carpet. Allow the foam to dry then vacuum or brush away any dry foam residue.

For Machine Cleaning: Observe manufacturer's instructions. Other uses: Upholstery, windows, mirrors and chrome.

How to use Carpet Glo

Before use, carpets should be tested for colour fastness on an inconspicuous area, preferably 24 hours in advance.

Thoroughly vacuum the carpet to remove all loose dirt.

Hand Cleaning:

1 part Carpet Glo to 40 parts water (25 ml per 1 litre of water).

Mix in a bucket or suitable receptacle and stir vigorously to create a great deal of foam.

Apply foam thoroughly to the whole surface using a soft brush or sponge. (Remember to avoid soaking).

Let foam dry. Vacuum clean or use a brush remove the dried foam, along with the dirt loosened by Carpet Glo.
